The DTH service providers in India consider it illegal and will not provide any service. In case any provider finds such practices, the concerned person may be subjected to punishment under the court of law.

The DTH service providers like Airtel, Sun Direct, Reliance, Dish tv do not recommend such practices.

The legal way

Many of us in our homes, use more than one television if we are a big family. Hence in order to reduce our burdens, TATA SKY has come up with a TATA SKY Multi TV connection plan.

Tata sky multi tv connection allows you to connect the same connection to 4 televisions (1 main TV + 3 additional connections).

Instead of taking a second connection, you can go for a multi tv plan and can pay only for what you watch. Even the existing customers can opt for this plan by clicking here.

The company is also providing multiple offers and discounts on the tata sky multi-connection plan. Check them out here.

Multiple set-top boxes to single Dish

Most of the DTH service providers in India offer this service. In simple words, then connect multiple DTH boxes to the same dish.

As a result, there is no need of using multiple dishes for multiple connections. The only problem is you have to pay more.

But Airtel has come up with the best plan for a second DTH connection. They are offering mind-blowing discounts on the second connection.

The monthly rental almost starts at Rs 94, which is reasonably good. According to this plan, airtel provides different Set-top boxes for different televisions which are connected to a single Dish.

Using multiple connections

Most set-top boxes come with HDMI and AV output jacks. You can connect one television with an HDMI cable and the other television with an AV (Audio-video) jack.

The HDMI connection does not require any additional audio jack as the connection carries both audio and video. The only problem is that the connecting television should be equipped with an HDMI input.

In recent times, most the LED televisions are equipped with HDMI inputs along with TV analog and AV input. Hence the method is only applicable if you are using a recently bought television.

You can connect the other television with the conventional Audio-video connector, which comes with 3 jacks. One jack for the video and the other 2 jacks for right and left audio.

But the problem is, you have to operate the 2 televisions with different remotes. In most cases, it is just a splitter and will be able to view the same channel on both televisions.

Using splitter

Splitters split the output from the set-top box and carry them to multiple televisions.

But the main disadvantage is, all the televisions will show the same channel as the set-top box is operated by a single remote.

It is a hectic process and is not recommended. A genuine user will always respect the rules of the DTH service provider.
